
Tell us a little bit about your background.
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating, I worked as a gemologist and diamond buyer in the diamond and jewelry industry for 20 years before switching to the beauty industry.
Why did you decide to start your own company?
My husband Craig and I went on a journey of a cleaner lifestyle after I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer back in 2004. We started to eat organic, increased our exercise, and began researching and using cleaner products. During that time, I found that there were limited choices for clean and safe makeup products and those that felt safe to use, did not have the beautiful colors, textures, and packaging that I was accustomed to in conventional beauty products. That is when I decided to create a skin-healthy, cleanly formulated makeup and skincare line that felt as beautiful on the outside as the formula is inside.
What makes your brand different from other beauty brands?
I work with cosmetic formulators that are the best in the business, but adhere to a long blacklist of researched ingredients that are considered potentially unsafe for our skin, our long-term health, and our environment, too. While we are dedicated to using the highest quality natural and organic ingredients, we are equally committed to the efficacy of each of our products and delivering the desired results to our customers.

Without giving away too many of your secrets, what do you anticipate your growth to be next year, and what is your direction for the future of the brand?
This is difficult to speculate because of the pandemic. We had so many plans for 2020 including some product launches that were held up for various reasons. However, we are optimistic as we are partnered with amazing retailers such as ULTA Beauty and The Detox Market. Additionally, we are EU registered so we can diversify our revenue streams across numerous countries. Soon we will be expanding our distribution further in the Middle East and Hong Kong.
What is the best piece of advice someone gave you? What advice would you give a budding entrepreneur?
Run your business frugally-watch where you put your budget so you can weather unexpected storms. This advice especially rings true during the pandemic, but it is good to always keep in mind.
What did your Cosmoprof North America experience mean to you?
Cosmoprof North America was the best trade show Hynt Beauty has exhibited at. We have had successful results and we have built some wonderful and strong relationships with new distributors and retailers as well as other like-minded brands that we collaborate with. We believe our brand had the greatest visibility by being in the Discover Green section.
Finally, what’s an interesting fact about you people would be surprised to hear?
I lost my first husband Robert on September 11th and since then I am a strong advocate for anti-terrorism.
